snapshots of my life: week 42

7 years old and full of it.
is this what i think it is on my KITCHEN FLOOR?!
why yes. i promptly gave him a quick trip back outside.
anatole had some saved money burning a hole in his pocket.  we took a trip to toys r us.  he chose a minecraft toy figure set and three match box cars.  i was more interested in this simpsons lego set (U.S. $300!!)
almost up onto the giant bench in front of the mall
deep reflections.  reminds me of jack handey's deep thoughts.
double the fun: halloween gift boxes from our good friend ann and gaga and buppa. this dancing solar pumpkin is a crack up
this is a multifuctional flashlight with whistle that also serves as a mini light saber
a very authentic looking mini skeleton. creepy!!
eyeball ball that lights up - wow!
surrounded by all the goods - lucky lucky boy.  thank you gaga and buppa and ann!!!
a good look. it's been so long since we've seen him with any front teeth.
anatole and papa had a living room slumber party.  they stayed up late watching movies and eating junk food.
this "american" pizza caught my eye.  i take umbrage at the idea!  i suspect most thai people would feel the same about the other variety.
anatole and i went on a nature exploration.  mission: to collect interesting samples of fall.
first stop: oak tree
next stop: horse chestnut tree
so pretty and remarkably shiny and smooth (the way most of us wish our skin looked!)
a recreated viking village from the 10th century

leaf from horse chestnut tree
we got stung by nettles, but it was worth it
more finds
we peeked at a viking event -  target shooting, bow and arrow style
climbers
there is something enchanting about fall foliage affixed to brick

back home, assessing the loot
this is the best double chocolate zucchini bread. it's decadent, more cake than bread but still relatively healthy. recipe from king arthur flour
